Cost Insights will appear on the ECPs for your cloud infrastructure. An entity represents a system that Cisco Cloud Observability observes and collects data about. Entity types include databases, services, applications, hosts, or other infrastructure components. Cisco Cloud Observability creates ECPs for each entity type that provide entity-specific performance metrics.

Cost Insights, in turn, provides a score (for cluster entities) and analyzes costs for ECPs in three places in the Splunk AppDynamics UI:

  • List View 
  • List View > Properties panel
  • Detail View 

Because Cost Insights does not support all entities, we'll list the supported entities, quickly cover the data granularity for each entity-centric page (ECP), and then show you how to access the different ECPs.

Entity Page Data Granularity

Cost Insights provides cost analysis at various levels of granularity depending on the entity page. The following table provides the data granularity for the Overview page, including the side panel and the Details page, and lists the Cost Insights metrics. See Cost Insights Metrics and Calculations for metric definitions.

The Cluster Score metric is only available for the cluster entity.
