This section describes the steps to enable metrics collection for the SAP Cloud Connector using CrystalBridge Monitoring.
Create RFC Destination from ABAP to Cloud Connector
CrystalBridge Monitoring is running on the SAP ABAP system, therefore it needs an HTTP connection to the Cloud Connector to collect metrics.
To enable the connection to the Cloud Connector through HTTP, create the destination as follows:
Start the transaction SM59.
Click Create.
Enter destination name (e.g. CCON), and then select connection type G - HTTP Connection to External Server.
Enter the Target Host (Cloud Connector host) and Service No. (port on which Cloud Connector receives requests)
Set Basic Authentication and enter user credentials.
The user needs to have administrator privileges for the monitoring to work correctly.
(Optional) If the cloud connector is using SSL mode, you will have to manually download the certificate from the cloud connector host using a browser, and import it to STRUST identity that the SM59 connection is using. For a detailed guide refer to SSL Certificates.
Check the connection and click Save.
Add Cloud Connector to Monitoring Scope
To add a new system for Cloud Connector monitoring:
Start the transaction /DVD/MON.
Click Add system.
From the Select main system type field, select SAP Cloud Connector.
In the Destination field, enter the RFC destination (type G), created in the previous step (e.g. CCON).
Click Check HTTP. If the connection to the Cloud Connector system is successful, the pop-up fields populate with system information.
You can change the System description and System name if needed. This is optional.
Click Confirm to proceed to the next step.
On the Confirm list of servers for monitoring screen, ensure that the Monitor checkbox is checked and click Confirm to add the system.
Start Cloud Connector Performance Collectors
To start monitoring the SAP Cloud Connector, perform the following steps:
Click on the newly added Cloud Connector server and press Start default monitoring button.
You will be prompted to choose the system (the newly added system should be pre-selected but if not, select your Cloud Connector system).
After confirming, a new collector job should be started titled CCON_1DAY, and Cloud Connector should be successfully monitored.
