From the Observe and list views, you can use grouping to display only the data you are interested in, by groups. Cisco Cloud Observability provides you the ability to group using Group View.

Group View

To group your entities by tags:

  1. From Observe, click on an entity.
  2. Click on the group view statement bar that is denoted by Add Group.
You can select the populated suggestions or if you begin to type,
the autocomplete feature will populate suggestions. To add multiple (up to two) tags, separate by adding a comma. If you attempt to add three or more tags, Apply will turn gray.
  3. Once you complete your group view statement, click Apply.
To remove grouping, highlight the group view statement and delete or clear the field.

To view group data in greater detail, click Observe. You can view the count of entities in groups to understand how the entities are distributed, such as health and metrics. For example, in the following screenshot when grouping by tags(namespace) and tags(service), there are six, out of the 73 Business Transactions that have a  namespace and service tag  of cloudkart-order-servie. For this example, you can view each of the six Business Transactions names, health statuses, originating service and namespace, the average response times, calls/min, and errors/min. The grouping table is customizable by the template driven system. To expand the grouping table view, click . To exit the grouping table view, click .

You can also combine the group by and filter features by applying a filter along with grouping (both input statement bars have a statement to be applied). The filter will only be applied to the main table that has the counts of the groupings.
