The Configurations page displays list of all ConfigMaps and Secrets present in the Kubernetes® cluster. Splunk AppDynamics monitors the health status, attributes, and relationships of each Kubernetes Configuration. Splunk AppDynamics provides a unique feature of the ConfigMaps and Secrets changelog widget through which you can track any changes that happened in the Configuration.
To view the details, ensure that you connect the Kubernetes Collectors to Splunk AppDynamics. See Install Kubernetes and App Service Monitoring.
On the Configurations page, you can use the k8s.cluster.id
attribute in the Filter View field to observe entity details for a cluster that does not have a unique name. In the filter, specify the value of this attribute as the UUID of the kube-system
namespace. For example, attributes(k8s.cluster.id) = valueOfClusterId
You can use Configurations to:
- View all ConfigMaps and Secrets present in Kubernetes cluster.
- Assess the overall health status of each ConfigMap or Secret.
By default kube-root-ca.crt and openshift-service-ca.crt ConfigMaps are not monitored. If you want to monitor these ConfigMaps you must remove them from regex at clustermonConfig/filters/entity/excludeRegex in collectors-values.yaml
.
Detail View
Clicking a Configuration Name displays the detail view. The detail view displays key performance indicators, properties (attributes), and Configuration changelog widget related to the Configuration you selected.
