Cisco Cloud Observability provides end-to-end visibility into the performance of the infrastructure running your applications. This solution, along with the OpenTelemetry™-instrumented applications, provides full-stack observability and simplifies deployment.

The Host Monitoring solution:

  • Monitors the health and performance of hosts running in your private environment. See Cisco AppDynamics Hosts.
  • Automatically ingests data from cloud hosts. For the list of ingested metrics, see Cisco AppDynamics Hosts for AWS, Cisco AppDynamics Hosts for Azure, and Cisco AppDynamics Hosts for GCP

Host Monitoring does not collect Kubernetes metrics. The Host ID for non-cloud hosts monitored by Host Monitoring is set to the machine name.

  • Identifies underlying infrastructure issues that impact your application performance.
  • Sends alerts based on infrastructure metrics so you can rapidly troubleshoot hardware performance problems.

Get Started

  1. Set up Host Monitoring on Linux or Windows.
  2. Once you set up Host Monitoring, Cisco Cloud Observability begins pulling metrics and populates the Observe page with entity-centric pages (ECPs). You can now monitor your Host Monitoring Entities.

For information about user interface tools, see Understand the Observe UI.
