AWS Service Catalog

AWS Service Catalog enables organizations to create and manage catalogs of IT services that are approved for AWS.

Cisco Cloud Observability supports monitoring the following AWS Service Catalog entities:

Product: An IT service that you want to make available for deployment on AWS. A product consists of one or more AWS resources, such as EC2 instances, storage volumes, databases, monitoring configurations, and networking components, or packaged AWS Marketplace products.
Provisioned Product: An AWS CloudFormation stack that makes it easier to manage the life cycle of your product by enabling you to provision, tag, update, and terminate your product instance as a single unit.

You must configure cloud connections to monitor this entity. See Set up Cisco AppDynamics Cloud Collectors to Monitor AWS.

Cisco Cloud Observability displays AWS entities on the Observe page. Metrics are displayed for specific entity instances in the list and detail views.

List and Detail View

To display an AWS Service Catalog instance:

Both the list and detail views are available for this entity.

Navigate to the Observe page.
Under Management & Dev Tools, click AWS Service Catalog Products.
The list view now displays.
From the list, click an instance Name to display the detail view.
The detail view displays the metrics, key performance indicators, and properties (attributes) related to the instance you selected.

Only the list view is available for this entity.

Navigate to the Observe page.
Under Management & Dev Tools, click AWS Service Catalog Provisioned Product.
The list view now displays. This view displays a list of your provisioned products along with their health, product type, and status.
From the list, click an instance row to display the properties related to the instance you selected.

Metrics and Key Performance Indicators

Cisco Cloud Observability displays the following metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for AWS Service Catalog Products. See AWS Service Catalog CloudWatch Metrics.

Provisioned Products Launched	`ProvisionedProductLaunch`	The number of provisioned products launched for a given product and provisioning artifact in a specified time period.

Properties (Attributes)

Cisco Cloud Observability displays the following properties for AWS Service Catalog.

Name	`aws.sc_product.name`	The name of the product.
ARN	`aws.sc_product.arn`	The ARN of the product.
Created At	`aws.sc_product.created_at`	The UTC time stamp of the creation time.
Portfolios	`aws.sc_product.portfolios`	The list of portfolios the product is part of.
Owner	`aws.sc_product.owner`	The owner of the product.
Short Description	`aws.sc_product.short_description`	A short description of the product.
Type	`aws.sc_product.type`	The product type. If this value is `MARKETPLACE`, the product was created by Amazon Web Services Marketplace.
Support Email	`aws.sc_product.support_email`	The email contact information to obtain support for this product.
Support URL	`aws.sc_product.support_url`	The URL information to obtain support for this product.
Status	`aws.sc_product.status`	The status of the product.

Name	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.name`	The user-friendly name of the provisioned product.
ARN	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.arn`	The ARN of the provisioned product.
Type	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.type`	The type of provisioned product. The supported values are `CFN_STACK`, `CFN_STACKSET`, `TERRAFORM_OPEN_SOURCE`, `TERRAFORM_CLOUD`, and `EXTERNAL`.
Status	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.status`	The current status of the provisioned product.
Status Message	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.status_message`	The current status message of the provisioned product.
Created At	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.created_at`	The timestamp of the creation time.
Portfolio ARN	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.portfolio_arn`	The portfolio ARN that this product belongs to.
Idempotency Token	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.idempotency_token`	A unique identifier that you provide to ensure idempotency.
Last Record Id	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.last_record_id`	The record identifier of the last request performed on this provisioned product.
Last Provisioning Record Id	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.last_provisioning_record_id`	The record identifier of the last request performed on this provisioned product of the following types.
Last Successful Provisioning Record Id	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.last_successful_provisioning_record_id`	The record identifier of the last successful request performed on this provisioned product.
Physical Id	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.physical_id`	The assigned identifier for the resource, such as an EC2 instance ID or an S3 bucket name.
Product ID	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.product_id`	The product identifier.
Product Name	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.product_name`	The identifier of the provisioning artifact.
Provisioning Artifact Id	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.provisioning_artifact_id`	The identifier of the provisioning artifact.
Provisioning Artifact Name	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.provisioning_artifact_name`	The name of the provisioning artifact.
User ARN	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.user_arn`	The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the user.
User ARN Session	`aws.sc_provisioned_product.user_arn_session`	The ARN of the user in the session. This ARN might contain a session ID.

Retention and Purge Time-To-Live (TTL)

For all cloud and infrastructure entities, the retention TTL is 180 minutes (3 hours) and the purge TTL is 525,600 minutes (365 days).
