Get Started

These are the high-level steps:

  1. Instrument Your Applications
  2. Configure Existing OpenTelemetry Collectors to Send Application Data
  3. Monitor Your Applications

1. Instrument Your Applications

To instrument applications running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments:

2. Configure Existing OpenTelemetry Collectors to Send Application Data

If you have already deployed OpenTelemetry Collectors, you can configure them to send application data to Cisco Cloud Observability. See Configure Open-Source OpenTelemetry Collectors to Send OTLP Data.

3. Monitor Your Applications

  1. Log into the Cisco Cloud Observability UI.
  2. On the Observe page, navigate to the Application Performance Monitoring domain. This domain contains links to entity-centric pages that can be used to monitor your applications.
  3. Click an entity name to monitor your applications. For more information on the entities that can be monitored, see Application Performance Monitoring Entities
