Use the NetApp Performanced Alert to produce alerts on NetApp storage systems. NetApp performance alerts detect performance or storage issues within a monitored NetApp storage systems. The alert can be based on protocol average latency values and volume space utilization.

You can configure multiple NetApp Alert.

  1. At the top right of the Alerts page, click New Alert from the top menu and from the list that appears, click NetApp Performance Alert.
The NetApp Performance Alert window appears.
  2. Use the following field descriptions to complete the NetApp Performance Alert window  and then click Save.
  • Instance: Click to specify the monitored instance to alert on. You can choose to alert on all your NetApp storage system or on a specific NetApp storage system.
  • Compare Last: Specify the time period to examine the NetApp performance. The alert will calculate the average latency for the time period you specify here.
  • Specify one or more of the following metrics for comparison:
    • Cifs Latency Threshold: Specify the CIFS (Common Internet File Sharing protocol) in milliseconds to compare against the CIFS latency detected. If left blank, no alerts are triggered based on this metric.
    • FCP Latency Threshold: Specify the FCP (Fibre Channel Protocol) protocol in milliseconds to compare against the FCP latency detected. If left blank, no alerts are triggered based on this metric.
    • ISCSI Latency Threshold: Specify the ISCSI (Internet Small Computer Interface) to compare against the ISCSI latency detected. If left blank, no alerts are triggered based on this metric.
    • NFS Latency Threshold: Specify the NFS (Network File Sharing protocol) in milliseconds to compare against the NFS latency detected. If left blank, no alerts are triggered based on this metric.
    • Volume Space Used %: Specify the percentage of disk space used to compare against. If left blank, no alerts are triggered based on this metric.
  • Alert Name: Specify a name to identify the alert on the alerts dashboard and in the alert email.
  • Email: Optionally specify an alternate user to send the email alert to. If you do not specify an email address here, the email alert is sent to the Default To Email Address specified for the email server.
  • Custom Email Body: Optionally specify the body content of the email alert.
  • No labels
