Summary

After a 4.3 upgrade, Oracle RAC monitoring may fail. Previously, monitoring RAC required a collector for each node in a RAC cluster. Starting 4.3, you only need to configure one collector for the entire cluster. You can choose any node in the cluster to connect to, and the entire cluster is automatically detected.

Affected Software

This issue affects Database Visibility users monitoring Oracle RAC.

Impact

Oracle RAC databases are not monitored.

Resolution

When upgrading to 4.3, you should delete old RAC collectors and create new RAC collectors to leverage automatic cluster detection. The nodes in the RAC must each be accessible by network to the agent and must be able to accept connections from the agent. You may also need to update your access control list for the monitoring user.
