This document announces the end of life (EOL) for an AppDynamics product.
Who is impacted?
All customers who purchased the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU.
What is the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU?
The Standalone Java Machine Agent provides OS level metrics, and allows the execution of several extensions and custom scripts.
There are two ways the Java Machine Agent can be purchased:
a) Entitlement as part of an APM Agent purchase
b) Independent purchase of the Standalone Machine Agent SKU as per price list.
Please note that the Java Machine Agent is the same binary for both a) and b) above.
What is being EOL?
Effective 1/15/2016, the Standalone Machine Agent SKU is EOL. The price list will no longer have this SKU listed.
Is there a replacement available for the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU?
Yes. The new Server Monitoring SKU is the replacement. Please refer to the 4.2 documentation for details on Server Monitoring benefits & features.
Can I continue to purchase the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU?
Customers who have already purchased the Standalone Machine Agent SKU, and not wanting to upgrade to 4.2, can purchase additional units of the SKU for 1 year from 1/15/2016.
Can I continue to get support for the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU?
The Standalone Machine Agent SKU will be supported for two years from 1/15/2016.
Can I upgrade the Standalone Java Machine Agent SKU to Server Monitoring?

Yes. No change in entitlements of functionality here.
