  • Large and extra large profile installations are not supported on virtual machines or systems that use network attached storage. 
  • The RAM recommendations leave room for operating system processes. However, the recommendations assume that no other memory intensive applications are running on the same machine. While the Enterprise Console can run on the same host as the Controller in small or demo profile Controllers, it is not recommended for medium and larger profiles or for high availability deployments.
  • Disk sizing shown in the sizing table represents the approximate space consumption for metrics, about 7 MB for each metric per minute.
  • The motherboard should not have more than 2 sockets. 
  • See Calculating Node Count in .NET Environments for information related to sizing a .NET environment. 
  • The agent counts do not reflect additional requirements for EUM or Database Visibility. See the following sections for more information.

    The 4.4 Enterprise Console large performance profile installation does not support 5M metrics/min OOTB. In order to reach 5MM, you need to update your Controller parameters to match those found in the following attached files:

    To update db.cnf:

    1. Log in to the Enterprise Console UI.
    2. Navigate to Database Configurations by selecting the platform, ConfigurationsController Settings, and Database Configurations.
    3. Modify the settings in DB Configuration Settings to match those found in on_prem_db.cnf.txt. For configurations that are present in on_prem_db.cnf.txt, but are not available in Database Configurations, add a new line and enter the property, e.g. key=value.
    4. Click Save.

    To update global configuration cluster values:

    Log in to the Controller admin.jsp page.
  • Navigate to Controller Settings.
  • Modify the settings to match those found in on_prem_upd_conf_clus.txt.

    To update domain thread pools:

    1. Log in to the Enterprise Console UI.
    2. Navigate to AppServer Configurations by selecting the platform, ConfigurationsController Settings, and AppServer Configurations.
    3. Modify the settings in Domain Thread Pools to match those found in on_prem_domain_thread_pool.txt. For configurations that are present in on_prem_db.cnf.txt, but are not available in AppServer Configurations, add a new line and enter the property, e.g. key=value.
    4. Click Save.

  • Ensure the parameters are retained after Controller upgrades by performing the steps Retaining Configuration Changes.
    The configurations in on_prem_db.cnf.txt and on_prem_domain_thread_pool.txt are taken care of for you in 4.5.1 and 4.5.2, respectively. However, your environment must run MySQL 5.7 db.cnf. If you are on MySQL 5.5, then you will need to upgrade to MySQL 5.7 to get the 5MM performance tuning.
