Summary 

With the aim of providing better security, privacy and improved features, AppDynamics continues to leverage frameworks, and OS functions that have minimum operating system requirements. Due to challenges with older OS compatibility, AppDynamics will stop supporting iOS, Flutter, React Native, and Xamarin Agent for iOS 9 and 10. Any customers deploying iOS, Flutter TM, React Native, and Xamarin applications that support iOS 9, or iOS 10 will be impacted. This change is effective April 17, 2023. 

Xcode 14 does not support building for any iOS version prior to iOS 11. See Xcode 14 Release Notes. If your application requires support for iOS 9, or iOS 10, then you can use Xcode 13 with the AppDynamics previous agent version 2022.5.0, to obtain legacy support of those iOS versions. However, as of April 2023, Apple App Store will no longer accept submissions of applications built with any Xcode version prior to Xcode 14. See Submit your iOS apps to the App Store.

If you are not submitting applications to the App Store, then the App Store limitation will not apply. Meaning that you are free to use older versions of Xcode. In such cases, you will have to stay with a previous version of the AppDynamics agent, version 2022.5.0 or older.

iOS, Flutter, React Native, and Xamarin applications that support:

  • iOS 9 
  • iOS 10 

Resolution 

Upgrade to iOS version 11, and agent version >= 2022.5.0.
