• Requires Controller 24.10.0 or later and .Net Agent 24.12.0 or later
  • Supports the NLog framework only
  • Does not support the profiler log collection

To access agent logging operations in the Controller UI:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Tiers & Nodes.
  2. Double-click on your node.
  3. Click the Agents tab.
  4. Click Request Agent Log File.
  5. Select an option based on your preference and click Request Agent Log Files.

You can produce output from a particular logger at a specified level for a set time period. The logger name can be an exact match or a regular expression like com.appdynamics.rest*. If multiple loggers match the regular expression, logs from all matching loggers will be requested.

You can use agent logging information to troubleshoot issues that are local to the .Net agent. Requesting log files causes the agent to send the contents of its logs directory as a zip file to the Controller. From the Controller UI, you can download the zip to your local machine.

While the status is PENDING, you can click Refresh to update the status field. When an existing log request is in progress, the Request Agent Log Files option is disabled. Once the request succeeds, right-click the agent operation name for your request and select Download Data.

Submitting Log Files to Support

When submitting log files, ensure you send the entire contents of the agent logs directory available as a zip file for download when you request the agent logs.
