ThousandEyes integration with Mobile Real User Monitoring (Mobile RUM) combines application data from Splunk AppDynamics and internet network metrics from ThousandEyes to provide full-stack observability.
The internet network data in the context of Mobile RUM enables you to observe and analyze the impact of network performance on application performance. Whenever there is an application issue, you can quickly identify whether the application issue is caused by a network issue.
You must have an active subscription for ThousandEyes Network and Application Synthetics in addition to your Splunk AppDynamics license to use Customer Digital Experience Monitoring. If you choose to use Customer Digital Experience Monitoring, your data may get transferred and processed in the United States. Please refer to your ThousandEyes ordering documentation and the ThousandEyes Privacy Data Sheet for more information.
License Requirements
To activate the integration, you need an active license of any of the following EUM licenses and an active subscription to ThousandEyes Network and Application Synthetics:
- Real User Monitoring (SaaS) - Peak Edition
- Mobile Real User Monitoring (SaaS) - Peak Edition

Use Cases
Observe ThousandEyes internet network data in the context of Mobile RUM data in Splunk AppDynamics:
- Observe the network metrics (packet loss, latency, and jitter) from the following ThousandEyes tests in the context of mobile application metrics:
- agent-to-server
- HTTP server
- page load
- transaction
- View the network health of each network path (Agent to target domain) in the context of mobile application metrics.
- Analyze the impact of network performance on the mobile application performance.
Identify the problematic domain whenever there is any application issue:
- When there is a high response time for end users, identify the root cause of the issue, and analyze the ThousandEyes network metrics to identify whether the network is the cause of the high response time for end users.
- When there is a performance issue from a specific domain, analyze whether the network is the cause of the performance issue of that domain.
- When there is a high response time in a specific geographic location, analyze the network metrics in those locations to check whether the network is the cause of the high response time in those locations.
- When there are errors in the mobile applications, analyze whether the network is the cause of higher error rates in the mobile applications.
Troubleshoot the network issues:
If you suspect that the network is the cause of the application issue, you can:
- Narrow down the network issue to specific network metrics, domain, time interval, and location and pass it on to the network team for further troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot the network issue in ThousandEyes by selecting the appropriate ThousandEyes network tests from Splunk AppDynamics.
