This release includes the following enhancements:

• Cluster Agent uses container ID to correlate APM entities with Infrastructure entities. For Kubernetes versions>=1.25, you require to configure the auto-instrumentation configuration file because from Kubernetes version 1.25  onwards, container runtime uses cgroup v2 API. See Correlate Application Containers with App Agents (For Kubernetes version 1.25).
• You can use the instructions mentioned at Install Cluster Agent with OpenShift Operator Bundle and Install Infrastructure Visibility with OpenShift OperatorHub Bundle to install Cluster Agent and Infrastructure Visibility respectively with the OpenShift OperatorHub bundle.

This release includes the following enhancements:

• For Kubernetes >=1.25, Cluster Agent supports the pod security admission at the namespace level when deploying the Infrastructure Visibility pod. For details see step 5 of Install Procedure.
• The alpineInitContainerImage is introduced in the imageInfo parameter to use the Alpine image for the .NET init container auto-instrumentation. See, imageInfo under InstrumentationRule Properties.
• You can now use the Alpine ARM-based AppDynamics Operator and Cluster Agent Images. See Cluster Agent Bundle Files.
• For Redhat OperatorHub, the Image field of the AppDynamics Openshift OperatorHub bundle will point to the AppDynamics Operator RedHat container image instead of dockerhub.

Version 23.5.0 - May 25, 2023

This release includes bug fixes and the following enhancements:

• The overall memory utilization of Cluster Agent is improved.
• Cluster Agent memory usage is optimized for the churn frequency of creating and deleting pods. The memory usage is not high if the churn frequency is >=3 minutes.
  For example, If the churn frequency is 50 pods per minute (creating 50 pods and deleting those pods after a minute) in a cluster with 500 pods, then memory usage keeps increasing. However, if the frequency >= 3 minutes, then the usage is constant.

Version 23.4.0 - April 25, 2023

This release includes the following enhancements:

• You can now configure the security context parameters for auto instrumentation. See Auto Instrumentation Configuration.
• The Cluster Agent and AppDynamics operator images are updated with the latest version of Go language.
  If you require to use Redhat-based Cluster Agent or AppDynamics Operator, you need to adjust your firewall settings as suggested by Redhat. Therefore, you require to allow outbound connections to the following hostnames:
  • cdn.quay.io
  • cdn01.quay.io
  • cdn02.quay.io
  • cdn03.quay.io

• Unzip the development build and reinstall the Windows service for the Machine Agent. When the service restarts, it should pick up the specified JRE.
• Restart the service if the value of the environmental variable is changed again.

.NET Agent for Linux 21.5 incorporates significant architectural changes to accelerate the development of missing features in the Linux Agent relative to .NET Agent for Windows. These architectural changes do not affect .NET Agent for Windows (MSI and Microservices).

Because .NET Agent for Linux 21.5 is a significant architectural update, some issues may arise despite extensive testing performed. If you experience any blocking issues, please open a high priority support ticket where AppDynamics will provide workarounds or alternate options.

Generally, .NET Agent for Linux 21.5 maintains parity with existing features in .NET Agent for Linux < 21.5. However due to architectural updates, there are differences between .NET Agent for Linux >= 21.5 and .NET Agent for Linux < 21.5.
