Change Your Push Notifications Settings
You can set AppDynamics to notify you when selected applications have an event or anomaly. These flags can help you to significantly reduce downtime. When notifications are enabled on both the Controller and your device, an alert message displays whenever an anomaly or health rule violation is detected even when AppDynamics is closed.
To receive push notifications on your device, ensure the flag push.notification.appdmobile.service.enabled
is set to "true" by an Administrator in the Controller Administration Console. If notifications are disabled in the Controller settings or device settings, a warning message displays for both iOS and Android devices.
To set up Push Notifications:
Tap Settings.
Tap Push Notifications. When the Push Notifications screen displays, the off/on switch is set to the off (left) position by default.
Tap the switch to enable Push Notifications (switch to on (right) position).
If you are using an iPhone, the first time you enable Push Notifications, a dialog displays. Tap Allow to enable your phone to receive Push Notifications. (Android devices bypass this step.)
If you receive a message stating that:
"Your administrator needs to enable notifications on the Administrator Console," contact your administrator to ensure that the corresponding value in the Controller is "true," and dismiss the error message.
